A 14 years old class eight pupil was on Tuesday arrested for stealing a car worth Sh1.6 million and also Sh31, 000 cash from Jacquelyne Karithoni Gitonga on June 17, 2019 at Milimani area in Kitengela town in Nairobi.
The young boy stole a Toyota Premio of registration number KCL 532B with the help of other people.
The boy was at a mall to enjoy himself when the CCTV camera captured him. He was seen driving the car into the mall's basement for parking on June 18, 2019.
The police were alerted and they came for him before he could make a run again.
He was taken to Kajiado court on Wednesday. Appearing before Magistrate Becky Cheloti, the boy was accused of these two criminal mistakes (stealing a car and also stealing cash worth Sh31, 000).
The accused is set to sit for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations this year. The boy denied the two accusations.
He was set free of cash bail of Sh100, 000 or a bond of Sh200, 000.
The magistrate directed that the case was set for mention on July 3, 2019 before its hearing on September 12, 2019.
