Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo now wants former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to join hands with Deputy President William Ruto in readiness for the 2022 general elections.
Kilonzo says that Kalonzo will not go anywhere if he contests the presidential seat alone without the backing of other communities.
Addressing Yatta Town residents on Tuesday, the MP said that Kalonzo needs the support of other communities to win the presidential race in 2022.
“Kalonzo should reach out to other top politicians, present his case and seek for support in his 2022 bid,” he said.
Kilonzo said that time has come for Kenyans to stop voting along tribal lines.
“I think Kenyans should realize that this country has over 42 tribes and should give each tribe chance to lead at the presidency,” he said.
Kilonzo, however, said that the Wiper Party leader has what it takes to be president in 2022.
He said that the former Vice President has vast experience in government places him at the top of other candidates who are eyeing the seat.
The Yatta lawmaker at the same time called for Kamba unity ahead of 2022 presidential debacle.
He said that the Kamba community has for a long time been used to settle political scores. This time around, they should unite and push their interests forward.
There are claims that DP Ruto could strike partnership with Kalonzo ahead of the 2022 general election.
