The development has many wondering whether it is informed by a real security threat on the DPP.

More security personnel comprising of General Service Unit (GSU) officers have been deployed to guard the DPP’s office at NSFF building in Nairobi and other county offices including Garissa.

The officers were deployed at the offices last week and are manning the offices on 24 hour basis.

In an interview with staff working at the office who sought anonymity since they are not authorized to speak to the media, more security personnel were deployed last week.

“Security has been heightened here which is a good thing because of the nature the work the office is doing especially in regards to the ongoing corruption cases,”  a staff at the office said on Tuesday.

DPP Haji’s purge on graft continues with several senior government officials being arrested and taken to court in the recent weeks.

The DPP who took office in April is working closely with the Directorate of Criminal Invitations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-corruption commission (EACC) to nail on graft suspects.

The DPP says that he is fearless and will go for small fish, big fish and even the whales in war against graft.

The former National Intelligence Service deputy director is using his intelligence skills to push the war against graft.

On Monday, National Lands Commission (NLC) chairman Mohamed Swazuri alongside other sixteen suspects were arraigned and charged with graft offenses.

Swazuri and co-accused denied the charges and were freed on Sh 6 Million bond or alternative cash bail of 3.5 Million.
