Rarieda lawmaker Otiende Amollo has stood out as one of the most popular leaders in vast and crowded Siaya County political arena, one year into his legislative term.
The popularity can partly be attributed to his good job, vocal nature, full support for opposition leader Raila Odinga's policies and involvement in Odinga’s August 8 election successful petition.
The leader can now only be ranked third in the area after the Former Prime Minister and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
But for how long will he keep the fire burning and remains relevant in both the Siaya and Luo Nyanza politics?
Will the youthful parliamentarian manage to retain the admiration his constituents have for him until 2022?
With politics being an upward spiral and many politicians overambitious, especially if they tend to bask in popularity, where will he land next?
Which position will he vie for in the next general elections?
Most likely to go for a bigger seat, what if the former Ombudsman faces off against Orengo who is also likely to either defend his seat or go for the bigger gubernatorial post?
In case they contest for the same seat, will the heavily educated lawmaker make it against the man who has gone down in history as one of the nation’s democracy fighters and Raila’s closest confidant and ally?
And in the event that he loses, will that mark the end of his political career? Will he manage to bounce back in 2032?
Finally, are we looking at the next Luo Nyanza political kingpin?
