Food-borne diseases are very common in our homes. At one point in life, you might have experienced stomachache and other issues immediately after eating. Fruits, vegetables, and dairy products should be washed before they are consumed to avoid different diseases. 1. Shigella

 Shigella is not known by many people. The illness is often caused by Shigella, which is a germ that is accompanied by diarrhea. When affected, a person sheds shigella bacteria on a regular basis. The symptoms of the disease are nausea, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach cramps.

2. E. coli

E-coli is another common illness you are likely to get if you do not wash your fruits, vegetables and other foods properly. The E.coli normally residents in intestines. Some of the symptoms include bleeding, confusion and kidney issues among others. The condition can last for up to 10 days. Persons suffering from this condition are advised to drink plenty of water in order to curb the same. Wash your foods before cooking in order to prevent the disease.

3. Listeria

 The bacteria eats soft cheeses, refrigerated meat and raw sprouts among others. Some of the common symptoms of the disease include confusion, weakness, stiffness in the neck and fever among others. The disease can make your immune system weaker over time.

4. Hepatitis A

The diseases is often associated with the Hepatitis A virus.  Children below the age of 12 months have no vaccines for the complication. It is recommended to seek medical attention whenever you see some of the early signs of the disease. The common symptoms include loss of appetite, abdominal pain and nausea just to mention a few of them.

5. Salmonella

 Thousands of Kenyans suffer from Salmonella for failing to wash their foods properly. The condition commonly occurs when you eat contaminated foods such as raw fruits, unpasteurized milk and contaminated eggs among others. The condition is normally characterized by abdominal cramps, vomiting, fever and diarrhea among other symptoms.
