According to the MP, who is seen as an ally of DP Ruto, it is President Uhuru Kenyatta who placed the call to the DCI, ordering an investigation to be carried out.

The outspoken legislator spoke to Sophia Wanuna on KTN's Big Story on Monday night.

"The DCI has come out clear and said that it is actually the president of the Republic of Kenya that made a call to him to have the matter investigated... But it is not the Deputy President that made the call to the DCI.

"It is not the deputy president that talked to any top police organ. It is, just like we learnt from the media, his Excellency the president, " Mr Osoro said.

The MP's remarks came amid a raging national debate on the assassination claims.

CSs whose names have been linked with the assassination plot have strongly rebuffed the allegations, saying that they have never plotted to harm the DP.

They said that meetings that they've been holding were expressly about development.

Deputy President Dr William Ruto has not addressed the assassination claims publicly.
