Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is among the vocal female politicians in Ukambani and the country at large.
Ngilu is also among the most experienced politicians in the country.
She is the first woman to contest for the Presidential seat in Kenya.

Governor Charity Ngilu studied at Mbooni Intermediate School for her primary education.
She later proceeded to Alliance Girls for her secondary education and sat for her exams in 1972.
Ngilu then proceeded to Kianda College and Government Secretarial College where she trained in Management and Secretarial.
In 1975, the vocal governor joined the Kenya Institute of Administration and graduated as a certified secretary.
In 2012, Ngilu graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Management from St Paul’s University.
