She is the first woman to contest for the Presidential seat in Kenya.

Born in 1952 in Kitui County, the governor has held several top Ministerial positions since she joined politics in 1992.

Governor Charity Ngilu studied at Mbooni Intermediate School for her primary education.

She later proceeded to Alliance Girls for her secondary education and sat for her exams in 1972.

Ngilu then proceeded to Kianda College and Government Secretarial College where she trained in Management and Secretarial.

In 1975, the vocal governor joined the Kenya Institute of Administration and graduated as a certified secretary.

In 2012, Ngilu graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Management from St Paul’s University.

Political pundits argue that Governor Ngilu is among the top Kamba politicians to watch out in 2022 polls.

She is backing Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.
