In an affidavit, Maribe says as a single mother, her child depends only on her.

“I am a single mother of a child aged four years who solely depends on me for social and financial upkeep. The child is of tender age and will deeply suffer if I remain in custody until the conclusion of the trial, which is undetermined,”  Maribe says.

The journalist is fighting for her freedom after she was dragged into the case of Monica Kimani’s murder.

She is behind bars and was jointly charged with her fiancée Joseph Irungu alias Jowie over the murder.

In her persuasion to the court, Maribe details how she has been cooperating with investigating officers and that she cannot jump bail if released because she is a well-known personality.

“I am a well-known T.V journalist working with Citizen TV as a prime-time news anchor. Most Kenyans are conversant with my job and can easily spot me anywhere, therefore, making it impossible for me to jump bail,” she further states.

Maribe has been cohabiting with Jowie at her Royal Park estate house where the suspect allegedly shot himself.

Maribe had earlier told police that Jowie was shot by thugs after he dropped her at her house.

She, however, changed her account of events and told police the ‘truth’ concerning the incident.
