Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung’wah has launched a scathing attack on opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Ichung’wah now claims that Raila is a deceitful politician who should not be trusted.
Speaking on NTV's Side Bar show on Tuesday night, the vocal Kikuyu MP accused the former prime minister of plotting to destroy the Jubilee Party.
He claimed that Raila’s handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta was aimed at splitting the ruling party.
“We knew Raila was hiding behind the handshake and his agenda is to split the Jubilee party,” said Ichung'wah.
The MP further claimed that the ODM party leader has a history of political deceit.
“He rocked KANU, rocked NARC, did the same thing with CORD and NASA,” said the Kikuyu legislator, adding that they will not allow Raila to cause more rifts in the Jubilee Party.
The outspoken MP argued that the Uhuru-led party was formed to unite and reconcile the country but Raila’s presence in the handshake deal is sabotaging the same.
A section of Mt Kenya politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto has openly castigated Raila accusing him of using the handshake to block Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has cautioning DP Ruto against trusting Riala, claiming that the former premier has ill intentions for the party.
Raila has, however, denied claims that his agenda is to split the ruling Jubilee Party.
