For you to be employed whether, in a private or government school as a teacher, you must own a Teacher Service Commission (TSC) number.

It is an important number that will help you get absorbed and posted in any school so easily.

 You can easily apply for this number online. You don't have to visit their offices. 

The online application is the most convenient and a bit faster. 

Here are the requirements that you need to know; 

 Certificate of good conduct.            

A copy of your ID and KRA pin.     

One passport size photo.         

GP69 form                                      

TSC online registration fees.      

 Bank slip confirming payment of the registration fees.                        

A clearance form from the Ministry of Education if you are an expatriate teacher. 

So here are the online steps; 

1.  Kindly visit www.teachersonline.go.ke website. This is where you will register if at all you need that number. 

 2. Thenceforth, click the New Teacher Registration Module.  After clicking it, you will be required to type in your national ID number or passport number and surname.  

3. Click next and enter your full names, birth details, gender, contact details and nationality.

 4. Click next and key in your qualifications and educational details.

5. Move to the next screen by clicking next. Upload your all scanned documents, the ones mentioned above. Once you have uploaded all the documents, click next. 

6. Enter your Minor and Major subjects, previous TSC number for those who had previously registered. 

You will then confirm the following details; 

If you have any medical, physical or mental impairment. 

 If you have been dismissed from civil, teaching or public service. 

 If you have ever been convicted of any charge in a court of law. 

If yes, then click yes.

7.  The next very step is selecting the mode of payment. Type in the payslip number. If you had used Mpesa to wire your registration fees, then enter that code and likewise with the bank slip and the rest. 

8. Square away all the fields and save. Make sure to confirm the details and this is important. 

You are now good to submit the application. You will wait a little longer for feedback from the TSC.
