The Kenya Defense Forces team on Wednesday moved in with speed to repair badly destroyed Hindi-Kiunga road within Boni forest.
Acting as a major link within several villages in Lamu, the Engineers Brigade retired normalcy after several days of heavy rains within the region.
The road is essential also in helping soldiers manning Boni forest to easily move around without any difficulties while carrying out operations.
"Security personnel in the Boni Enclave Security Operation repair a section of the greater Hindi-Kiunga road between Baure and Mangai damaged by heavy rains plus free medical care," KDF said.
"KDF engineers from the Sangailu constructed waterways for the Koran Hindi dam in Sangailu town," the statement further read.
For four years now, KDF team has pitched tent in Boni forest following rising of Al-Shabaab terror attacks in the coastal region.
Recently, three suspected terrorists died on the spot near the highway when Improvised Explosive Device exploded when they were setting it up.
The Kenya Meteorological Department on Wednesday warned that heavy rains shall continue across the country, a move that could destroy infrastructure.
“Most parts of the country will experience above average rainfall during the month with November normally being the peak month for the October-November-December (OND) “short-rains” season,” said Ms Stella Aura.
