Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has responded to calls by popular comedy group Propesa to settle a 'debt' owed to them.
In a series of tweets, Murkomen noted that he will not be intimidated, even after Propesa sought help from Deputy President William Ruto, compelling Murkomen to pay off.
On Tuesday, the popular Kalenjin comedy group met Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen residence during a meeting with local online content creators.
Kimutai, a member of the popular group, asked for the intervention of Deputy President regarding Murkomen's debt.
In a Facebook post, the DP asked Senator Murkomen to settle Propesa's debt.
"Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, lipa deni ya Propesa. Dawa ya deni ni kulipa,my friend," Ruto posted.
Last year, Murkomen and Propesa were involved in a bet where the latter was wagering in support of Everton in a highly anticipated match against Gor Mahia.
Murkomen who had his money on Gor lost the bet after the Kenyan team was thrashed by the EPL club.
According to their agreement, the losing party was to donate balls to ten schools, but the Senate Majority leader failed to honour the deal, claiming that he made it under duress.
