Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o officially resumed duty few days after being jetted back to the county three days ago.
The county boss who had been away due to illness met and hosted various ODM leaders, led by Deputy Party leader, Ali Hassan Joho who also doubles up as Mombasa Governor alongside the Party’s Secretary General, Lawyer Edwin Sifuna in his office on Saturday.
“I am pleased to have received Deputy ODM Party Leader H.E Ali Hassan Joho alongside S.G Edwin Sifuna who were accompanied by a host of parliamentarians and senators to my office early this morning. As a party we fully embrace the HANDSHAKE idea,” said the Governor via a post on his twitter handle.
The ODM officials who were en route to Luanda Constituency to be hosted by the area MP Chris Omulele for a bodaboda fund drive had some discussions before they proceeded with their journey.
Nyong’o was admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu on January 12, when he fell sick while attending the installation ceremony for the Archbishop Philip Anyolo at the Uzima University grounds.
He was then flown to Nairobi for further treatment a few days later and was released almost a week ago.
The county chief has been recuperating from Nairobi before he moved back in officially.
