Political analyst Ambrose Weda now says that COTU boss Francis Atwoli's recent rant against Deputy President William Ruto is being intensified by politicians hoping to benefit.

Speaking at the coast over the weekend, Atwoli poked holes into Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition, remarks that have not been taken lightly by the DP's allies, under the leadership of Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi.

Sudi has since gone all out in bashing Atwoli, in what the commentator now says is an attempt to rip the most in political mileage.

"People like Sudi are simply taking positions around the people they think are most likely to become the next big figures in the country. He need not make the issue look bigger than it actually is," said Weda.

The commentator was speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation Show on Wednesday morning.

He faulted the lawmaker for even dragging the entire Kalenjin community into the issue after Sudi in a press briefing said that the community has taken the remarks very seriously.

"Sudi is even crying louder that Ruto himself. But he should remember that he is a leader and try as much as he can not drag the entire community into the issue," noted Weda.

Sudi's complains came only hours after he was warned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) for making tribal remarks against the Luo community.
