Residents of Nyagacho area in Kericho county are in shock after a young man chopped off his manhood.
The incident which occurred on Tuesday has left locals tongue waging on what could possibly have caused the youthful man to do such an action.
According to reports by the Standard, one of the witnesses identified as Anthony Kanuthi said he heard screams from his neighbour and when he rushed to the scene, he found the man Samuel Muchiri had cut off his manhood.
Kericho Police commander James Mugera confirmed the incident. He said his officers were called upon and found the man's blood flowing from the injured part.
Muchri was rushed to Kericho District Hospital to allow the doctors to re-attach the genitalia but was later transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for further assessment.
"Due to the nature of the wound which requires a highly supervised operation, we decided to refer him to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital," said the hospital's medical superintendent, Japhet Cheruiyot, as quoted by the Standard.
It is yet to be exactly known what caused the man to chop off his manhood although some residents alleged that he must have been intoxicated.
