However, the President visited Moi on his way to the funeral of the late Sarah Kasaon in absence of Ruto.

The deputy president was not present at the meeting (with Moi) but joined President Kenyatta later at the funeral because he was having several activities including attending a homecoming party of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro in Murang'a County.

"Earlier we had erroneously indicated that DP Ruto accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit Moi. We have since established that he was not present for the meeting but only went for Sarah Kasaon’s funeral," Rachel Mbaka reported.

Moi on his part thanked the President for steering the country towards unity. Moi had managed to serve Kenya for 24 years as its head of state.

Present during the meeting was Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who is considered to be DP rivalry over 2022 politics.

The two have been rivals based on who should be the kingpin in the land.Could this be the reason DP missed this visit? It is not clear.
