National Super Alliance (NASA) strategist in the 2017 elections David Ndii now says that the whole debate around Deputy President William Ruto's alleged assassination plot was a political game engineered by Ruto.

Reports on Monday emerged on how a group of four Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya have allegedly been plotting Ruto's elimination, alongside Principal Secretaries and parastatal chiefs, ahead of his 2022 presidential ambitions.

But Ndii now says that that the same is part of the ongoing fight between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto under their Tangatanga and Kieleweke factions of the ruling Jubilee Party.

He says that Uhuru has failed to keep his Mt Kenya bedrock in order, instead leaving the job  in the hands of his officials, which the DP has in one shot turned to his advantage by making the group look bad and against him before Kenyans.

Consequently, he argues, the report comes as a win for the DP, who is maximizing on the fact that Uhuru has been unable to stamp his authority to champion for his future ambitions, most probably his pending bid for the top office.

"The pitfalls of relying on deep state to do your politics. Politics is about mobilization and spooks cannot address political rallies. All it took is one prank to scuttle Uhuru’s hare-brained plan to deploy government to do his politics. Tanga Tanga 3 - Kieleweke 0,” he tweeted.

The CSs in question are Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport), three of whom presented themselves to the DCI offices in Nairobi on Monday for questioning.
