Former Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale has defended his move to work with Deputy President William Ruto, his once sworn political enemy.
Mr. Khalwale, who has lately been pushing for Ruto's presidency, said he recently buried hatchet with Mr. Ruto.
"Relax, before agreeing to work together, @WilliamsRuto & I apologized to each other for all the hard hitting positions we have over the years taken over each other. And buried the hatchet!"https://twitter.com/KBonimtetezi/status/1057551340296200193?s=19.
In a recent rally, Khalwale insisted that a Luhya can only come closer to power if they supported Ruto in exchange for Deputy President position.
So unpredictable has been Kwalwale that social media users have often criticised his political moves.
One user said: "Why is it hypocrisy for Bonnie Khalware to Change tune on UhuRuto, but heroic for Rao to do the same in the infamous "handshake" with Uhuru?"https://twitter.com/DouglasJiveti/status/1057670252400689152?s=19.
ODM Communication Director Philip Etale has also been in frontline questioning Khalwale's political moves.
In 2013, he closely worked with Musalia Mudavadi before quitting for Moses Wetangula, would backed Raila Odinga in 2017 elections.
