Joshua Aduma Owuor is serving his second term as Nyakach constituency Member of Parliament (MP) having been elected in 2013, and re-elected last year.
He was elected on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket, making him one of the five ODM MPs in the county.
The second term Member of Parliament is a lawyer by profession.
He has a Bachelors of Laws from the University of Nairobi, and Diploma in Law acquired at the Kenya School of Law in 1994.
The lawmaker went to Nyabondo Primary School, Onjiko High School and Ambira High School between 1979 and 1986.
Between 1994 and 2001, he privately practiced as an advocate before being appointed Kisumu Town Clerk in 2004.
He was transferred to Bondo in the same capacity in 2006, and later to Garissa in 2007.
Before joining politics ahead of the 2013 general elections, Owuor served as Director of the City Hall in Nairobi.
In Parliament, the Nyakach MP is a member of the departmental committee on Administration and National Security.
Between 2013 and 2017, he was a member of the departmental committee on transport, public works and housing.
