Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Wednesday afternoon visited the family of former Amagoro MP, Oduya Oprong who passed away on Sunday.
His visit comes amid his naming as a person of interest in the Sh400 million fake gold scandal.
In the company of Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa and a host of Ford Kenya leaders, Wetangula arrived at Oprong's home minutes past 1 pm.
"Currently Ford Kenya brigade led by Party leader Hon Moses Wetangula and several MPs visiting the family of the Late Oduya Oprong the former Amagoro MP," youth leader Nalianya Simiyu posted.
On Monday, ODM leader Raila Odinga also visited the family of the former Economic Planning Assistant Minister. He was accompanied by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.
Earlier, Wetangula had dismissed the ghost of fake gold scandal, insisting that it was 'a non-issue'. He vowed to continue discharging his duties diligently.
“I am here because I am here,” he said when asked about the summons.
“I am here for my party meetings. I am not aware of what you are talking about, it is a non-issue to me and I don't want to engage in it," he said.
DCI George Kinoti had said that Wetangula, who was then in Hong Kong, would be summoned to record a statement over his alleged involvement in the scandal that saw a Dubai royal family member losing close to Sh400 million.
