Emerging details indicate that Deputy President William Ruto will be heading back to Western Kenya this weekend, two weeks after he toured Vihiga County in the same region.
The DP will be attending a holy mass at the Salvation Army Church in Kakamega, Kakamega county on Sunday, in a function partly organized by former area Senator Boni Khalwale.
Confirming the same in a Facebook statement on Friday, Khalwale noted that arrangements for the function are complete, welcoming all concerned parties to attend the mass.
"I take this early opportunity to alert all those whom this may concern that this weekend, on April 14, 2018, we have finalised plans to host the Deputy President of Kenya, Dr William Ruto for a holy mass in Kakamega, to be presided over by the salvation army church. Welcome," he wrote.
Khalwale has since taken the driver's seat in spreading Ruto's gospel in the region and has severally openly declared support for the DP's 2022 presidential bid.
In an interview on Citizen Radio on Wednesday, he vowed to lead the DP's campaigns in Kakamega County upon the open of the campaign window.
Ironically, he maintained that he remains the Deputy Party Leader of the Ford Kenya party, whose party boss Moses Wetangula had also declared an interest in the top slot.
