There was drama on Wednesday morning at Bonyagatanyi village in Nyamasibi, Kisii County after a 33-year-old woman stripped naked and walked in her birthday suit protesting her husband's decision to marry a second wife.
Locals said Ann Nyanchama was against her husband David Ayienda's move to marry another wife.
"Ayienda brought his new wife home on Tuesday evening and spent the whole night with her in his room without the knowledge of Nyanchama," said a local Brian Nyabate.
Mr. Nyabate revealed that Ayienda on Wednesday morning called for a family meeting where he introduced his new wife something that led Nyanchama to strip naked.
"Nyanchama has been a troublesome woman and this is the major reason Ayienda decided to marry another woman. She should blame herself because she doesn't even do anything to bring food to the table," he added.
Ayienda defended his decision saying Nyanchama has been mistreating him.
"I couldn't divorce her because I have sired three kids with her. I will recognize her as my first wife and I promise to be supportive to her and the kids," he assured.
Area chief Stephen Monari said he has been solving the couples family wrangles in vain.
"Nyanchama has been respectful to her husband. She will have no option rather than accepting the co-wife," he said.
