What seems to be a preparation of 2022 political tussle between Raila Odinga DP William Ruto could slowly get out of control as the two protagonists yet again launched scathing attack again each other on Saturday again.
On Friday, Ruto accused Raila of plotting to dismantle Jubilee from within, a claim which the ODM leader dismissed, adding that Ruto was scared of the fight against graft.
And on Saturday in Nyeri, the DP claimed that Mr Odinga is pushing the war against graft as a wife scheme to taint Jubilee administration as corrupt.
“Let us not lie that money has been stolen so that Jubilee comes off as a failed administration and frustrates our political ambitions. We are not stupid and will not allow that,” he said.
“We will build those dams because we are a responsible government that will stand by what we promised Kenyans. What is unacceptable to us is exaggeration with the aim of politicising and profiling government projects to be used in political campaigns down the road,” he said.
Miles away in Siaya, Odinga alleged that the decision by Catholic Church, Diocese of Kisumu to return a vehicle donated by Ruto was as a result of 'not knowing where he got the money from 'Dr Ruto had donated a vehicle to Archdiocese Bishop Philip Anyolo, who took over the powers in December last year, a function attended by the two.
“He gifted the bishop a car last year, but the head of the church rejected it and directed that it be returned, because the source of the funds is not clear. We all know that this is corruption money,” Raila told mourners at a burial in Kisumu yesterday.
“The church is busy congratulating them, yet these people are embezzling funds meant for development. They sit down when money is brought to them in huge sacks, claiming these leaders are working hard and investing in heaven,” claimed Raila in further frontal attack on the DP.
