A Deputy Governor from Gusii region allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has once again thrown his weight behind Deputy President William Ruto.
Joash Maangi who is perceived to be a close ally to DP Ruto argued that he is not against DP Ruto vying for the presidency in 2022.
"Leaders are chosen by God. I do not have any problem with DP Ruto becoming the next president in this country. Should he win the presidency in 2022, I will work with him," he said at Tendere Primary School in Bomachoge Borabu on Monday.
Maangi who is the current Kisii County Deputy Governor maintained that DP Ruto should not be seen as an enemy because of falsehoods that he is corrupt.
He stated that DP Ruto's track record speaks for itself.
"DP Ruto has been doing a commendable job since he became the Deputy President. Like any other human being, he has enemies opposed to his leadership. I urge DP Ruto to continue helping Kenyans where he can as well transform lives," added Maangi.
Maangi had accompanied Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka to deliver the pledges Deputy President William Ruto made last year for the development of Amabuko Secondary School.
