A new trick has been established by robbers in Kisumu to break into the houses of unsuspecting residents.
Residents whose doors are locked by shutters are the most targeted and consequently the most affected.
The thieves reproduce copies of house keys, wait for the occupants to leave, after which they move in and take away valuables from the premise.
A research conducted by this Hivisasa writer established that five residents in Lolwe and Migosi estates have mysteriously been robbed with no breakages.
Kennedy Kiptoo who stays in Migosi lost his electronics to the thieves on Sunday night while he was away in Eldoret.
“I found no breakages on my bedroom door. They went with all my electronics,” said Kiptoo.
Another resident from Lolwe found a spare key on his shutter, after the thieves made away with his valuables while he was away in Murang'a.
“The thief must be someone who is familiar. The key used is a copy of mine. He never broke anything,” said Andrew.
