Lessit has over 15 years experience as a criminal Judge and has in the recent years handled high profile murder cases.

Stationed at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, Lessit is known for her strictness when it comes to law and conduct of lawyers, journalists and all those who attend her court sessions.

She is described as a no-nonsense Judge.

Lessit is the Head of Milimani High Court Criminal division and also chairs the Court User’s Criminal Committee.

In July, Lessit sentenced former Langata Prisons beauty queen Ruth Kamande to death after she found her guilty of stabbing her boyfriend Farid Mohamed 22 times in Nairobi's Buruburu estate.

In her death sentence ruling, Lessit said that Kamande did not show any remorse after killing her boyfriend and did it intentionally.

Lessit is also presiding over the trial of five Administration Police (AP) officers and a civilian who were charged with the murder of lawyer Willie Kimani, his driver and client in 2015.

Obado’s plea of not guilty on Monday marked the beginning of his journey in fighting for freedom against the murder charge facing him.

He is expected in court on Tuesday afternoon for his bail application hearing.
