Jonathan's farewell service at his father and former President Daniel Moi's Kabarak home attracted a good number of leaders from both sides of the political divide.

But Weda now claims that the political class only trooped to Kabarak for the sake of the ageing former President, and not in honour of the former rally racer as they tried to put it.

"They were only there because Jonathan was Moi's son, not because they loved him or were touched by his death. How come they were never seen visiting him when he was alive?" posed Weda who doubles up as a High Court advocate.

The commentator was speaking on the Big Conversation show on KBC English Service, Wednesday morning.

He added that the mood shown at  the funeral,  was also for personal reasons, noting that the attendees only appeared sorry and sad because of the natural mood that comes with such.

"Let it not be thought that they were being sorry for the family, they only appeared sad because they knew death is inevitable and their days will come, its a natural personal feeling," he added.

Present leaders at the function included Deputy President William Ruto, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Governors, Senators and lawmakers.

Jonathan was later buried at his home in Kabimoi, Eldama Ravine in Baringo, a week after succumbing to cancer at a Nakuru hospital.
