National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has already put to task the new Inspector General of Police.

Duale said the new IG must arrest the ghost police workers who have been pocketing Kenya's money without doing any Job and asked him to reach out to his constituency.

Speaking on Wednesday in parliament during the approval of the new IG, in the morning session broadcasted live by KBC, the legislator said he wants to see then behind bars.

"Some of this ghost workers must be arrested including those in my constituency,

"Surcharge those ghost workers. Those people must be arrested," he said.

He added that the new IG must borrow a leaf from his predecessor Joseph Boinnet who brought sanity in some parts of the country.

Citing Nairobi, Duale said; "the former Inspector General Boinnet brought sanity. We really need to thank Bonnet. Nairobi used to be a city of carjacking but he killed it," added Duale.

MPs on Wednesday unanimously approved Hillary Nzioki Mutyambai and to take over from Joseph Boinnet.

Mutyambai will face among others to ensure he fights corruption in the police service, ensure full implementation of the Police reforms and rebranding while regaining public trust to the police service.

Mugambi before his nomination and approval was the Assistant Director of the Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Unit at the National Intelligence Service (NIS) with the experience of over 27 years on matters security.
