Angry elders in Ibeno ward, Nyaribari Chache constituency in Kisii County on Sunday threatened to curse Kisii Governor James Ongwae for sidelining the region.
The elders led by John Sagero questioned why the construction of Nyanturago playing grounds has stalled for many years.
"Ongwae has failed to ensure inclusivity in his government. He has forgotten the people of Ibeno as if we didn't elect him. There is no tangible development ongoing in the ward," said Sagero.
According to Sagero, the county boss is only interested in giving out cheap money to a few individuals without development.
"It is sad that we elected Ongwae to continue feeding few individuals and filling their stomachs instead of prioritizing development," he added.
He said the county boss has until March 1, 2019, to tour the region and launch development projects failure to which they will curse him.
Mary Nyamwamu another elder said Ibeno residents are not enjoying devolution.
"We have never tasted the fruits of devolution like other regions. Ongwae will have to move with speed and ensure stalled projects in Ibeno are completed or we curse him," she noted.
