Okoth is battling stage four colorectal cancer.

On Tuesday, the second term Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator shared his photo on social media and revealed how chemotherapy is affecting him badly.

“Napambana na hali yangu kabisa (I am seriously struggling with my condition) Chemo drugs brutal on the skin and immune system,” Okoth tweeted on Tuesday.

Ngilu is among the politicians and Kenyans who have empathized with the MP.

She took to her Twitter account to offer hope to the ailing legislator.

“Mheshimiwa Okoth, we pray and stand by you as you battle with cancer. God shall surely see you  through this struggle,” Ngilu tweeted on Tuesday.

The Kitui governor added, “You are a conquer and a victor. Stay faithful, stay hopeful. All will be well our friend #weshallovercome."

Kenyans under the #weshallovercome continue to encourage the MP as he battles the disease.

Okoth is among the most vocal ODM politicians in Nairobi County.

He has several times been voted among the best legislators in terms of managing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Okoth is advocating for the legalization of bhang.

The MP has sponsored a bill that seeks to have bhang legalized on grounds that it has medicinal and economic value.
