At the funeral in Kitui which was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kalonzo offered to work for Uhuru as 'mtu wa mkono'.

"Your excellency I am ready to work for you as an errand boy. Kenya must move on and that's what we want," he said.

But the remarks have not gone down well with political leaders from his own Wiper who believe that he demeaned his status.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, reports the Nation, has not hesitated to hit back at his party leader whom he believes is losing relevance.

"Yuyu mutongoi wa andu atwika mundu wa mukono, namo andu ala ma ivalo mamutumie mesani ya nthi makatwika kyau? (When a leader of the people becomes an errand boy, what becomes of the followers who have elevated him to the negotiation table?") reads part of a statement he published on social media on Saturday.https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Kalonzo--errand-boy--offer-angers-Wiper-leaders/3126390-4847148-kafyxo/index.html

Area Senator Mutula Kilonzo added: "Kalonzo should tell us what the community will benefit from handshake rather than what he wants to get."

Musyoka could find his way back to government an indication manifested through his recent tour to China with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He has played second fiddle to Raila Odinga's quest in 2013 and 2017 elections which they jointly lost to Uhuru.
