Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), on Saturday arrested a man believed to be the main suspect in the brutal murder of police constable Hellen Kwamboka, on the night of 23rd May, 2019.
In a statement posted on Facebook, DCI noted that the suspect, Eric Onyono Nyakundi was nabbed at Swam Town.
The investigative agency further noted that it's detectives had been trailing Nyakundi for days, before nabbing him "at his hideout".
The suspect is set to be presented in court on Monday.
"Detectives from Buruburu today morning arrested the 30-year-old man suspected to be the perpetrator in the brutal murder of police constable Hellen Kwamboka that occurred on the night of 23rd May, 2019.
"Mr. Eric Onyono Nyakundi was nabbed at his hideout at Swam Town after being trailed for almost a week through Kisii, Bungoma, Kitale and Mount Elgon.
"The lifeless body of the victim, who was attached to Parliament Police Station, was found lying on her bed at her rental house in Umoja Estate-Nairobi, on the 24th of May 2019 with a deep cut on her head.
"Detectives believe that Mr. Eric Onyono committed the offence and then fled. He has been placed in lawful custody awaiting processing and to be arraigned in court on Monday," DCI posted on Facebook
