Five MPs from Nyamira County on Friday morning snubbed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i's meeting at county headquarters.
Dr Matiang'i, who shares powerful National Development and Communication Cabinet Committee, held brief meeting with county leadership when he jetted in.
Curiously, MPs Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Ben Momanyi (Borabu), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango) and county MP Jerusha Momanyi were absent.
In the past, Matiang'i has asked the leaders to have a round table meeting with him for the sake of expediting various government projects.
Dr Matiang'i held a meeting with security team before briefly discussing issues with Governor John Nyagarama and the county leadership.
The five MPs are pushing for DP William Ruto's presidency while a section of county leaders led by Governor John Nyagarama and Senator Okong'o Mogeni are of the opinion that the community should support Matiang'i.
Despite missing out in the early morning meeting at county headquarters, Kemosi and Momanyi however, have arrived at Gesiaga where Matiang'i is chief guest for fundraiser.
Although the county leaders are backing Matiang'i, he's yet to declare interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
