Police in Sugoi have launched investigations into a theft incident at Deputy President William Ruto’s home.
According to Daily Nation, several crates of eggs were reportedly stolen from the DP’s office in an incident that has created tension in the home.
Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bittok told the paper that police have responded swiftly to nail those behind the theft.
“Police open probe after 10 crates of eggs were stolen from the home of DP Ruto in Sugoi, Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bittok says,” the paper reported on Monday.
It was not immediately clear when the theft took place. This is the second time Ruto’s home is hitting the headlines over an ‘attack’.
The first one was in 2017 when it was reported that gunmen had accessed the home and shot a GSU officer.
The DP has fashioned himself as a hustler who beat all the odds to climb Kenya’s political ladder to a Deputy President.
He proudly narrates his humble days as a chicken seller where he earned a few coins for his education.
Ruto once said that he never imagined he would be ‘anyone’ in the country when he was hawking chicken along a railway line.
"Where I was selling chicken was close to a railway track. I used to see the trains pass by and I would tell myself, ‘One day in the future I will drive this engine!’” Ruto said.
