Nominated MP Gideon Keter wants the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji and the Inspector of police to bring to book all the leaders who have issued inciting remarks that led to the ongoing skirmishes in Olposimoru.
The MP has also faulted the government saying it has been negligent.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, the National Assembly youth representative says the government has not given the situation the attention it deserves.
“The ongoing skirmishes between the warring communities living in some parts of Narok North Constituency which include Olposimoru, Tegat and Olengape have not gotten deserving government attention,” says Hon. Keter in his statement.
The MP adds that under the watch of the security agents, lives and property have been lost while children have dropped out of school.
To salvage the situation, Keter says that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i should intervene to save the families from the unwarranted torture.
The MP says that the Ministries of Environment and Security should issue a joint statement clearing the air about the titles.
He also wants a statement from MP Moitalel saying he has been in the forefront of inciting some people.
“Narok North MP Moitalel Kenta should also tell us why he has been in the forefront calling for the eviction of one community in his constituency despite the formal settlement,” writes the MP.
The MP has threatened to call for protests across the Rift Valley should the government fail to take prompt action and punish those who harass and intimidate other communities.
