Outspoken Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has made public his next battle in Parliament.
Babu who is known for his comic deliberations in the National Assembly said he is prepared to rally MPs against the approval former Kenya Power and Lighting Company Chief Executive Officer Ben Chumo's appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the head of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Chumo is currently facing corruption charges in court on suspicion of committing an economic crime and abuse of office. He is also accused of fraudulently acquiring public property.
"We will reject corrupt Ben Chumo's nomination to head SRC in the Parliament. I am following up on this issue," Babu who recently successfully challenged the nullification of his election at the Court of Appeal said in a tweet on Tuesday.
He said people who are suspected to have a hand in corruption should not be allowed to manage any public office as the act would amount to glorifying graft.
Chumo was arrested two days ago and has been on remand. He awaits the court's ruling on whether he will be released on bail or not.
He left KPLC in January where he was the Managing Director after attaining the retirement age of 60.
Chumo was arrested alongside ten other top managers at the state-owned firm after a report released by the Auditor General Edward Ouko showed deep-rooted rot at the institution.
