Police in Nakuru County are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a seven-year-old boy whose body was on Sunday found dumped in a forest.
Reports on Citizen Digital report that the body of the minor was found on by children in a forest in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County.
Area Nyumba Kumi coordinator Stephen Koech said the children were herding animals in the forest at around 4pm when they came across the boy’s body.
Upon discovering the body, the children reportedly raised an alarm, alerting local residents from the nearby shopping centre.
The elder said police were informed of the incident and they arrived later and ferried the body to the mortuary.
Koech urged the police to investigate the matter, adding that this was the second incident happening in the area over the last few days.
“The children alerted us when they found the body dumped in the forest. On looking at the body of the boy it seemed like he was strangled before the body was thrown at the forest which is near a police post,” Koech said as quoted by Citizen.
