She named four Deputy President William Ruto allies who, she claimed, were sent to convince a businessman to implicate Raila and Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Dr Fred Matiang'i in the fake gold scandal that has gripped the country.

The MP said that Oscar Sudi, Nelson Koech, Caleb Kositany and Governor Sang were sent by Ruto to visit Zaheer to convince him to drag President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, and Dr Fred Matiang'i in the scam.

"Kenyans know that four Rift Valley MPs Oscar Sudi, Nelson Koech, Caleb Kositany and Governor Sang were sent by their master to visit Zaheer and ask him to drag the president, Raila and Matiang'i in the scheme," Wanga's statement read.

She said that the scheme to implicate the president, Raila and Matiang'i was a ploy to divert attention from the war on corruption.

Wanga strongly defended Raila Odinga said that he had never been implicated in any scandal or theft of public property.

Her words, an escalation of the war of words between Ruto and Raila allies, come in the context of revelations of the activities of a fake gold syndicate said to have swindled millions of shillings.

Investigations have been launched by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations into the fake gold syndicate.

Scores of arrests have already been made.
