Speaking during the Cotu prayer rally at St Stephen ACK Church in Nairobi on Sunday, Sonko blasted Kenneth and Kamanda saying they have no moral authority to speak about the war on corruption.

Sonko claimed that the two politicians are masterminds of graft and should give Kenyans a break.

In an event televised live on KTN News, Governor Sonko alleged that Peter Kenneth is responsible for the collapse of Kenya-Re.

The Nairobi Governor went on to allege that Maina Kamanda grabbed public land and constructed residential apartments.

"Ukikuja hapa kutuambia kuhusu ufisadi na wewe ni mfisadi hautusaidii, Huyu Peter Kenneth alimaliza Kenya-Re, Huyu Kamanda amegrab manyumba pale amejenga kwa barabara na road reserve, Hiyo ni corruption, mnaogopa kusema kwa nini? Kwa hivyo usikuje kutuambia juu ya corruption na wewe ni mwizi nambari moja. Corruption is corruption, hakuna ya juzi ama jana. Lazima tusimame imara na vita dhidi ya ufisadi," an angry Sonko said as quoted by Standard Digital.

Sonko's statement loosely translates to (When you come here to lecture us on corruption you are not helping us. Peter Kenneth who is here siphoned Kenya-Re , Kamanda has grabbed public land and constructed houses on a road reserve. Is that not corruption? Are you afraid to say the truth? Therefore don't come here to lecture us on corruption when you are topping the list of corrupt people).

The Nairobi governor said that the war on graft should not be selective, adding that all those involved must be investigated and taken to court.

Kamanda and Kenneth has been vocal on the war against corruption.

The  two has been calling on agencies involved in graft to act on individuals implicated in graft scandals.
