I will not play second fiddle to any Presidential candidate come 2022, Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said.
The former Vice President said that he will not relent in the quest to ascend to power during that time.
He insisted that he is not going to be a professional as far as being other candidate’s running mate in the coming years.
He spoke during an interview on Citizen TV.
“I will not be a professional running mate," he said. Kalonzo also said that he is more concerned about issues affecting the nation.
“We will cross that bridge when we get there…right now I am concerned with issues of urgent national importance,” he added.
The Ukambani political kingpin has insisted that he has what it takes to ascend to power when that period comes.
Kalonzo has since dismissed push for a referendum. He said that he will not support the referendum because it will cause Kenyans more harm than good.
"When the time for the debate on the amendment of the Constitution comes, I will stand and oppose any attempts to erode the benefits of devolution," Kalonzo said.
ODM leader Raila Odinga has been pushing for constitutional changes ahead of the 2022 presidential race. A section of analysts and leaders believe the opposition leader is plotting on how he will contest for the seat during that time.
Kalonzo is expected to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto if his word is anything we can go by.
