Kenyatta University has officially closed the Arusha and Kigali campuses. The closure comes after a government directive that was geared towards consolidating resources.
The announcement was meant of Friday during the 44th graduation ceremony.
Last month, the government barred KU from admitting students in the two institutions
"We received instructions on the same and KU is already working on closing the campus,” acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Wainaina said.
The Tanzania Commission for Universities stopped KU, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat), Kampala International University College and 16 others from admitting students over failure to meet quality standards.
