Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has condemned recent utterances made by three North Rift legislators who called for the investigation of the Deputy President William Ruto over his involvement in the recent maize scandal.
The MPs Silas Tiren (Moiben), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Nandi Hill’s Alfred Keter on Saturday said that DP Ruto should tell Kenyans what transpired in the maize scandal.
But addressing the at his home in Kapseret on Monday, a visibly angered Sudi said the MPs' utterances lacked respect to the DP.
“Don’t think Kalenjins are stupid by speaking a lot of English telling us you will demonstrate and close state house. We want our people to plant avocado, maize and vegetables as alternative crops," he said.
Sudi, a close ally of DP Ruto further branded the three legislators as political brokers who don’t represent farmer’s interest but their own.
“Mandago was the one who was mandated to deal with farmer’s issues and not these three brokers. They should not use Deputy President’s name for their benefit,” he said.
