Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka is set to visit retired President Daniel Moi at his home in Kabarak, Nakuru County.
Moi invited the former Vice President for a visit after the burial of his (Kalonzo) father Peter Musyoka Mairu.
Delivering the message when he condoled with Kalonzo at his Karen home in Nairobi on Thursday, Moi's son and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi noted that the former President wants to personally offer his condolences.
"Mzee has sent me to request you to come and visit him after you bury your father so that he can personally condole with you," Gideon is quoted by the Standard.
And in acceptance, Kalonzo assured Moi that he will indeed honor the invitation.
“I am humbled that you have come to be with us. Tell Mzee that I together with my family will come after we bury my father. This is an opportunity that is long overdue and we will honour it by visiting Mzee,” he is quoted.
Among leaders who have since sent in their condolences is opposition leader Raila Odinga who was also present at Kalonzo's home earlier and Deputy President William Ruto.
Kalonzo's planned visit to Moi's home follows recent ones by Raila and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
Peter Musyoka Mairu died on Sunday morning.
