After his sacking on Friday, outgoing Sports and National Heritage Cabinet Secretary was thrown into the cold only a year after his appointment and is unlikely to return until soon.
But all is not lost for the youthful fellow who if keen, can even use his embarrassment to his favour and come back in a bigger way and without having to work under anyone.
He was a political figure before his appointment and its time he went back there. He has accumulated all the popularity he needs, its now time he went for an elective seat.
Just like Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu who was similarly sacked by Uhuru during his first term, Echesa can identify a seat and vie in 2022 and could just make it if he plays his cards well.
His failure as a Cabinet Secretary doesn't necessarily make him a useless person, and by the way, isn't Ngilu doing it? This is just one of the ways he can bounce back in 2022.
His best option would be the gubernatorial seat, probably the Kakamega one which will be up for grabs with the looking retirement of sitting county boss Wycliffe Oparanya.
On the other hand, he can ride on his said closeness with Deputy President William Ruto to bounce back in the instance that Ruto's presidential bid realizes.
But this will depend on his contribution in Ruto's Western Kenya campaigns for 2022 which he is very likely to be picked to lead.
If he manages to play his part and deliver the vote then he is as we'll likely to be once again considered in the DPs cabinet.
If he succeeds in these, then his stay in the cold will be a short one.
