On Friday, Milimani High Court Judge, Jessie Lessit released the four, Betty Akinyi, Dale Richard, Michael Onchiri and Alexander Gitau on Sh500,000 bond with two sureties of similar amount or an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000 each.

Justice Lessit ruled that the prosecution failed to provide compelling reasons to deny the suspects bail.

"I will grant the accused persons bail but with caution that they shall not go to the New Njiru Clinic which is said to have been the scene of crime," Justice Lessit ruled on Friday.

The High Court Judge also cautioned the suspect's against interfering with witnesses in the case.

The four pleaded not guilty to murdering Caroline Mwatha at Dandora Phase IV in Nairobi county on the nights of February 6 and 7, 2019.

The case will be mentioned in two weeks to set dates for the hearing.

Mwatha's body was discovered at City Mortuary in Nairobi on February 12, six days after she was reported missing.

A post mortem conducted by the government pathologist revealed that she died as a result of excessive bleeding following a botched abortion.

The pathologist report also disclosed that the deceased had no physical injuries ruling out possibility of having been strangled to death.
