Deputy President William Ruto should stop fooling Kenyans that no one has died in the counties worst hit by drought, a politician allied to ODM party based in Gusii region has said.
Samuel Omwando, who unsuccessfully vied for the Kitutu Chache South MP seat during the 2017 polls, said Ruto should not be trusted.
"Ruto will never tell Kenyans the truth. He is denying that there are no deaths due to the prolonged droughts in Baringo and Turkana counties yet we are watching on television and reading newspapers how poor Kenyans are dying of hunger," he said.
The vocal politician urged DP Ruto to stop denying things he doesn't know nothing about.
"It is disgraceful that DP Ruto can't even help people from his community to get food. Let him grow up and stop telling lies about the ongoing drought," he stated.
Mr Omwando appealed to the government to move with speed to ensure the drought victims get food and water.
"We don't want to witness people dying because of hunger yet some individuals are stealing public money. Drought victims should be give free food and clean water for their survival," added Omwando.
