Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was recently put on the spot after photos emerged online of a staircase project that is being undertaken by the county government.
The project left Kenyans on social media confused, with a majority of them wondering why Waititu's government didn't choose to construct a road.

The staircase is being constructed on a hill in Karanji, Limuru East Ward and is sponsored by the Kiambu County Government under the Department of Roads, Transport, Public Works and Utilities (RTPW&U).
The public staircase road will be used as an alternative route for school-going children.

Other pedestrians in the area will also be allowed to use the staircase, as the road that connects Karenjee to Limuru town is usually impassible during the rainy season.
