Machakos Speaker Florence Mwangangi was forced to walk out of the house during a session on Wednesday.
This was after audio clips of Governor Alfred Mutua were played in the house for scrutiny by the MCAs.
Mwangangi excused herself from chairing the session stating that the audios were distressing her.
"I have listened to the clips myself. They are very distressing to me and for that reason, I don't feel like chairing the session," Mwangangi said as she walked out of the assembly.
Her deputy Paul Museku was forced to take over as the members listened to the audios punching holes into them.
Most of the MCAs termed the Mutua's utterances as disgusting and shameful.
They said the governor has lost respect for both the assembly and Speaker.
Nominated MCA Christine Koki said Mutua is blinded by male chauvinism that he can't accept women can make good leaders.
"Times have changed. What men can do, women are outsmarting them and the governor should get used to the fact that Mrs. Florence Mwangangi is the Machakos Speaker," Koki said.
Mutua has found himself the subject of ridicule after his demeaning remarks about the Speaker a week ago.
He has on several occasions claimed that the Speaker is sabotaging him and his administration.
Recently, Mutua said the Speaker is controlling the MCAs in a bid to frustrate his leadership.
His utterances didn't augur well with the public and now the governor is under pressure to apologize.
