Despite numerous court orders, Ms Mayaka was yet again blocked from accessing the County Assembly on Tuesday with Speaker Moffat Teya citing confusions and delay of authentic letter from IEBC.

But Mayaka now accuses Governor Nyagarama of blocking her way to the assembly, at the expense of disgraced outgoing ODM nominee Damaris Mouni, who has lost three court battles.

"He has been looking for me several times. He approached me twice and offered me a job. I rejected it. I asked him to give it to Mouni but he said that she doesn't qualify. He really wants that lady in the assembly but that cannot happen," she said in a phone call.

There was standoff at the assembly grounds for the better part of Tuesday when Mouni and Ms Mayaka's supporters clashed. At the assembly, both of them were blocked by Speaker Moffat Teya, who said he's waiting for legal opinion from his team.

ODM party denounced Mouni's nominations and she has since lost thrice in court. She was found guilty of sneaking her name to the party's list through her son, who has since been sacked by IEBC.

But Governor John Nyagarama, through Director of Communications Kefa Miller, has rubbished the claims, insisting that the claims were unfounded and political.

"That's a lie. The governor has no business in the duel. The matter is with the speaker or in courts. I think it's unfair to drag the name of the governor to such issues. It's unfortunate," he said.
