Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will give Deputy President William Ruto a run for his money if he surprisingly receives an endorsement from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka in 2022.

Although it looks like a far-fetched dream, in politics anything can happen.

There is no doubt that Joho will be among the men to watch in the next presidential race. His political move will determine the next president of this nation considering his influence in the Coast region.

Together with his Kilifi counterpart, Amason Kingi, the two leaders control the politics of the region. The votes from Luo Nyanza, Mt. Kenya region and Eastern region combined with those he will garner from the Coastal region will enable Joho to defeat Ruto in 2022.

The Mombasa county boss has been very vocal on matters concerning the people.

Joho, who was one of the toughest critics of the Jubilee regime before the handshake, believes in nothing but better service delivery. He has been in the forefront in fighting for the rights of the people of the Coast region since he entered the political arena.

Joho could win the heart of many Kenyans who believe in democracy if he receives backing from the trio.
